Wow. It’s Christmas Eve. One day before Christmas 2015. Time sure has flown by! I can still clearly remember everything that happened last year. It definitely doesn’t seem like 365 days have gone by since then! Christmas is the best time of year. Sure, there are some great presents. But it’s also is about family, giving, and most importantly, Jesus.
It’s hard to remember the real reason behind Christmas sometimes. We just get so wrapped up in making our Christmas list, decorating the house, traveling all over, and doing regular Christmas things. Those things are totally fine! But really, the only reason we can do any of those things is because of Jesus. He came into this world of pain, sorrow, and hardships, just to save me and you.
Think about it. Jesus had everything he ever could have wanted up in heaven. No sadness, no death, no evil. Yet he came into this broken world, as a baby, because he loved us so very much. Jesus is the ultimate gift.
Try to include Jesus in your busy day tomorrow. After all, it is his birthday! Start the morning off with a quick prayer, and thank him for all he has done for us. While opening presents, don’t forget that everything comes from him. The joy and happiness we experience on Christmas Day, that’s because of Jesus!
It’s very hard to remember to do these things. It will be such a fun and busy day tomorrow. Eating great food, opening great presents, and spending time with great family. But try and remember to think about the real reason for Christmas. It’s Jesus. He gave up everything to save us, and he loves us more than we could ever comprehend. For someone to love me that much, well, that’s the best Christmas present I’ll ever get!
